The 70 series in Nvidia GPUs is considered to be a sweet spot. Like when the GTX 1070 came, most of the people preferred it over 1060 and 1080 because it was much cheaper than 1080, and they wanted something better than 1060. You can expect to play all kinds of modern games, including all AAA titles on your Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 laptop. Like Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Watch Dogs: Legion. Plus, you can play all the competitive games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DOTA 2, Apex Legends, Fortnite, and PUBG on 200+ fps for a smooth gaming experience.

#1 – Razer Blade 15
Razer has gone through painstaking effort to make sure that their Razer gaming laptop is not just another laptop. This is the top tier premium stuff and delivers high-class performance in games.
Intel 10th gen Core i7-10750H 6 Core processor. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q with 8GB VRAM. 15.6″ FHD 1080p 144Hz high referesh rate display. 16 GB RAM. 512 GB NVMe SSD. 3 USB A ports, 1 USB C, 1 Thunderbolt 3 USB-C, an ethernet port, and an SD card reader.

Storage might be an issue. Average speakers for the paid value.
The Razer Blade comes with a unibody design, which makes it thinner and prettier but also slightly more expensive than the other competitors on the market. It has a Razor snake logo upfront, which glows green and looks awesome. There’s one problem with the surface, though, and it catches fingerprints quickly. The newly updated keyboard has finally updated the shift key, which got a lot of complaints last year. The RGB lighting on Razer Blade 15 is amazing, as you can customize each key to the color you like. Razer Blade 15 comes with an Intel Core i7-10750H 6 Core processor, which is a beast for gaming. It is very well suited with the included RTX 2070 Max-Q and will not bottleneck the GPU in any game. The display is 15.6″ FHD 1080p at 144Hz. It comes with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB NVMe SSD pre-installed. There’s one thing to notice here that it comes with 2 NVMe SSD slots, so you can always add another fast NVMe storage to your laptop whenever you want. The 144Hz display will make your games look better at high refresh rates without screen tearing, especially in competitive games. Port selection on this notebook is also amazing. It has 3 USB A ports, 1 USB C, and then another Thunderbolt 3 USB-C, an ethernet port, and an SD card reader. The battery life on the Razer Blade 15 is 4 to 5 hours without gaming. Gaming on the battery is never recommended, but you’ll get around 1.5 hours of battery on gaming as well. The adapter which comes in the box to charge the battery is 220 watts.
#2 – MSI GL65 Leopard
MSI GL65 Leopard comes with the all-new Intel 10th gen Core i7-10750H 6 Core processor. It is the same processor that was featured in the Razer Blade laptop we discussed above. Basically, the GPU and CPU are exactly the same, and it will also give a lag-free and bottleneck-free gaming experience. Razer Blade 15 is an excellent laptop to have. It comes with an amazing combination of CPU and GPU, which will provide excellent performance in all games, including all the latest AAA titles. The advantage of having 2 NVMe slots makes this laptop an excellent choice. Plus, Razer always offers the best in class RBG lighting in their keyboards. This laptop is definitely for you if you are a Razer fan, and even if you are not, it’s an excellent choice.
Intel 10th gen Core i7-10750H 6 Core processor. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with 8GB VRAM. 15.6″ FHD 1080p 144Hz high referesh rate display. 16GB (8G*2) DDR4 2666MHz RAM. 512 GB NVMe SSD (an additional 2.5” free disk slot). Steel Series customizable RGB keyboard with Anti-Ghost keys. 3 USB A ports, 1 USB C, an ethernet port, and separate ports for microphone and headphone.
Thin bezels make the laptop look beautiful. Excellent keyboard. Dedicated left and right buttons on the trackpad. Each key RGB light is customizable. 144Hz display. Excellent cooling. Excellent speakers.
All plastic body. Thick and heavy.
The RAM included is 16 GB DDR4 for an excellent multitasking experience and smooth gaming. It also comes with a 144Hz display for smooth gaming, but it’s not the best 144Hz display out there. The bezels on the screen are very thin, which makes the laptop look more beautiful. Like most MSI laptops, the keyboard on this machine is made by Steel Series. You can choose either a single color red light keyboard or a full RGB one. Overall it’s a good keyboard with good tactile feedback and a good amount of key travel. The touchpad also comes with dedicated left and right-click buttons. The MSI Leopard series is more targeted towards the entry-level or budget gaming sector, and it kind of influences the design as well. It’s definitely not thin or light, coming at about 2.3 kilograms, and it’s primarily made up of hard plastic. However, the keyboard and lid do make use of aluminum. It’s basically the same design from the previous generation. Port selection is also good. It comes with separate ports for headphones and microphones. There’s a mini display port, an HDMI port, 3 USB-A ports, and a USB-C port. Battery life is average, and it gives 4 hours of usage without gaming. The laptop fan might get loud while gaming, but it will prevent high temperatures and frame drops because of it.
#3 – Acer Predator Triton 300
Acer Predator Triton is thin, small, very light, given that it has an RTX 2070 in it. It has a metal build and comes with a very clean and beautiful design. It is surprising that a gaming laptop can be this much thin and still performs amazingly without any heating or performance issues. This might not be the best-looking gaming laptop out there as it is made up of plastic and has a thick and heavy body. However, it does not compromise on performance and gives the best in class gaming experience on a 144Hz display. You should definitely go for it if you love MSI.
Intel 10th gen Core i7-10750H 6 Core processor. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q with 8GB VRAM. 15.6″ FHD 1080p 240Hz high refresh rate display with 3ms response time. 16GB (8G*2) DDR4 2933MHz RAM. 512 GB NVMe SSD (an additional open NVMe slot). Excellent RGB Keyboard. 3 USB A ports, 1 USB C, an ethernet port, and a headphone/mic port.
Surprisingly thin and light. 240Hz IPS display. 4th gen AeroBlade 3D technology. 2 NVMe SSD slots. Clean design. Metal build.
No Thunderbolt 3 support. No 2.5” disk slot.
The Predator draws 230W power with its power brick, which is normal for a gaming laptop. You should always keep your power brick connected while gaming, or you will lose battery quicker than you think. The battery life without gaming is around 4 hours. It has a USB-C, mini Display Port, an HDMI, and 3 USB-A ports. There is no Thunderbolt 3 support. Which might be an issue for some people, but other than that the Triton 500 series is an excellent choice for competitive gaming, It comes with a 240Hz display with a 3ms response time, which is excellent for gaming. Your games will look much better on a 240Hz display and can give you a competitive advantage in multiplayer competitive gaming as well. Triton comes with 2 NVMe SSD slots, and 512 GB SSD is included. You can add 1 more SSD whenever you feel like it.
#4 – ASUS ROG Strix G17
The first thing you notice about the ASUS ROG Strix G17 is that it comes with a very LED heavy design. If you love LEDs, you are going to love it. We can say it is an LED overload design. At the first glass, either you are going to love it or think, what the heck is this. You can also turn off the LEDs and make it look more like a normal laptop. If you are looking for a beautiful gaming machine, this notebook is the perfect choice for you. It has a surprisingly thin and light design, which makes it easier for you to carry the laptop anywhere, and you can even use it outdoors, on a bench without a hustle. Plus, it features a 240Hz high refresh rate display for a smoother overall experience and better, more fun gaming. So if you are a fan of high refresh rate and thin notebooks, this is the right choice for you.
Intel 10th gen Core i7-10750H 6 Core processor. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q with 8GB VRAM. 17.3” 144Hz IPS FHD Display. 16GB DDR4 2933MHz RAM. 512 GB NVMe SSD (2 additional NVMe slots for expansion). Excellent RGB Keyboard. 3 USB A ports, 1 USB C, an ethernet port, and a headphone/mic jack.
A lot of LEDs (If you love them) 3 NVMe SSD slots. 17.3” 144Hz IPS FHD Display. Separate click buttons on the touchpad with excellent tactile feedback. Excellent battery life.
A lot of LEDs (If you are not an LED fan). No Thunderbolt 3 support. No webcam.
The laptop is very firm and rigid. In fact, it is one of the most well-built laptops on the market today. It has a very large palm rest area, which is a good thing as it is very comfortable to use. As you can expect, the gaming on the Strix is very responsive with great experience, even for fast-paced gameplay. It comes with a 144Hz display for an even better gaming experience. The keyboard on this notebook is also very good with excellent response and good travel distance. The touchpad also has separate click buttons with excellent tactile feedback. There’s one more thing to mention here that this laptop does not have a webcam. We’ve 3 USB-A ports on the left side of the laptop, along with a headphone/microphone jack. On the back, we’ve got an ethernet port, a power input, an HDMI port, and a USB-C port, which can also work as Display Port. The right side of the laptop does not have any ports. One more feature which makes it better than the other laptops on our list is its amazing battery life. It gives 7-8 hours battery life on web browsing, which is rare for a gaming laptop. Most gaming laptops usually last 4 or 5 hours max.
#5 – Acer Predator Helios 300
Acer Predator Helios 300 is another fantastic RTX 2070 laptop. It is mostly like the Acer Triton 300, which we mentioned above, but there are some key differences. It is a bit cheaper than the Triton 300 and the Triton 300 is a little bit thinner and lighter than this one. This RTX 2070 laptop is all about LEDs. If you are an LED fan and like a lot of LEDs, this might be the best choice for you as it has all other major features present in it, plus it comes with 3 NVMe slots, which no other laptop on our list does. But if you do not like a lot of LEDs, this laptop might become annoying for you.
Intel 10th gen Core i7-10750H 6 Core processor. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q with 8GB VRAM. 17.3″ FHD 1080p 144Hz high refresh rate display with 3ms response time. 16GB (8G*2) DDR4 2933MHz RAM. 1TB NVMe SSD (an additional open NVMe slot). Excellent RGB Keyboard. 3 USB A ports, 1 USB C, an ethernet port, and a headphone/mic port.
Excellent temperatures. Great value for money. 17.3” FHD Display
Terrible battery life. No Thunderbolt 3 support.
The Acer Predator is a banger, and it’s fantastic. The screen on this notebook is 144Hz, unlike Triton 300, which has a 240Hz display, which is better. The Helios 300 has some funky lines besides the predator logo, which look good. The back of the laptop has chiseled hardcore vents for better thermals and cooler gaming. The Helios 300 is a little bit heavier at 5 pounds compared to the Triton 300 at 4.6 pounds. Another major advantage this laptop got over the Triton 300 is the 1 TB hard drive as compared to the 512 GB on the Triton. Ports on both laptops are exactly the same, which means you get a mini Display Port, a USB-C, an HDMI, and 3 USB-A ports. This notebook does not support Thunderbolt 3 as well. The intake grills above the keyboard are also a little bit different. The Helios has diagonal lines of input grills, while the triton has triangular-shaped grills. They do not affect the cooling performance on any of the laptops, though. The battery life is one of the worse in many laptops. It barely gives 3 hours of usage in general productivity and less than an hour during gaming. However, gaming on battery power is not recommended.
#6 – CUK GE75 Raider by MSI
The MSI GE75 is a thicker gaming laptop, but it packs some serious power inside. The laptop weighs 2.66 kilograms and delivers top of the line performance. The Helios 300 is a bit cheaper than the Triton 300, but the price cut comes at a cost. It has a thicker design 144Hz refresh rate as compared to 240Hz on Triton. But you do get 1 TB pre-installed NVMe SSD on this one. The choice is totally yours, and both laptops deliver the exact same performance, now you have to decide if you can spend some money for a better screen and thinner design. I would recommend going for the Triton, though.
Intel 10th gen Core i7-10875H 8 Core Processor. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with 8GB VRAM. 17.3″ FHD 1080p 240Hz high refresh rate display with 3ms response time. 32GB DDR4 2933MHz RAM. 1TB NVMe SSD (an additional open NVMe slot) + 2TB 5400rpm Hard Disk Drive. Steel Series keyboard with Anti-Ghost Key + Silver Lining. 3 USB A ports, 1 USB C, an ethernet port, a mini DP, an HDMI, and a headphone/mic jack.
2 NVMe M.2 slots. 2.5” SATA disk slot. USB-A ports beautifully light up red. Good speakers. 17.3″ Thin Bezel Full HD 240Hz display.
Comes with a thick body. Comes with Windows 10 Home instead of Pro.
The lid and interior of the notebook are matte black metal, while the bottom is made up of plastic. The overall build quality is excellent. The screen bezels are very thin, which look beautiful, but there is a larger chin below. There is a slight movement when intentionally flexing the screen, but it feels quite solid due to the metal exterior. The hinges are round towards the corner and are very sturdy. The hinge is on the stiffer side, and it is not one hand openable, but it does help minimize screen wobble. The 1080p Full HD screen comes with a 240Hz refresh rate, which makes the screen excellent for competitive gaming and general productivity or even watching videos. The Steel Series keyboard is good with decent travel distance. The surface gets quite hot while gaming on normal mode, but with fans at full speed, temperatures are okay. It has one of the best gaming performances among all the laptops on our list today. The laptop surely gets hot while playing some AAA titles, but you should always put the fans at full speed for a better and cooler gaming experience. Port selection on this laptop is awesome. On the left side, there is a gigabit ethernet port, an HDMI port, a mini Display Port, a USB-A port, a headphone and a microphone jack, and a USB-C port, which does not support Thunderbolt 3. On the right side, there are 2 USB-A ports and an SD card slot. The USB-C port does not have a display output. When powered on, all three USB-A ports light up red.
#7 – ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17
ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 is another amazing laptop from ASUS. This thing is big on size, big on features, and big on price. This laptop Is RGB heavy, just like the Strix 17 we’ve discussed above. So if you are an RGB fan, this notebook will be interesting to you. This is one of the highest performing laptops on our list, but that comes at a premium price. It has a 240Hz display compared to the MSI Leopard. We recommended that it has a 144Hz display. So choosing between both MSI laptops depends on your preference. If you are willing to spend extra for more storage, better screen, and better overall performance, go for this one.
Intel 10th gen Core i7-10875H 8 Core Processor. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super with 8GB VRAM. 17.3″ FHD 1080p 300Hz high refresh rate display with 3ms response time. 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM. 1TB NVMe SSD (an additional open NVMe slot). Standard RGB Keyboard. 3 USB A ports, 1 USB C, an ethernet port, an HDMI, and a headphone/mic jack.
300Hz Full HD display panel. Excellent color reproduction. Excellent speakers. 2 NVMe SSD slots. Excellent software suite. Excellent thermals.
No Thunderbolt 3 support. Sub-par touchpad. No webcam.
The speaker setup on the Scar 17 is amazing. It has a stereo speaker setup, and the speakers are not bottom-firing. There is one speaker on either side, and they sound very good in games and produce natural sounds. The major highlight of the laptop we are discussing is its 300Hz display, which looks stunning. The full advantage of the display comes with competitive games such as Valorant, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and DOTA 2, which can easily run on nearly 300 fps. Modern AAA titles are not going to run at 300 fps, but they still look stunning on this 3ms display. There’s one more thing to keep in mind that the Scar 17 comes with Windows 10 Home, not the professional edition. Plus, it does not come with a built-in MS Office suite. The notebook weighs 2.9 KB, which is normal for a gaming laptop this big, but it’s not super portable. The left side of the laptop has 3 USB-A ports and a headphone/microphone jack. The left side has a USB-A keystone slot for your wireless mouse dongle. The backside of the laptop has a full-size HDMI port, a USB-C port, which can be used as a Display Port, and an ethernet port. The USB-C port does not support Thunderbolt 3.
What You Should Check Before Selecting The Best RTX 2070 Laptop
When you are spending a couple of thousand bucks to get a laptop with RTX 2070, you should look for the things discussed below and make sure you do not spend this much money on nothing. We’ll tell you section by section about all the things you should look for before buying an RTX 2070 notebook. It is one of the best laptops on our list today. The best thing about this laptop is its 300Hz display panel, which no other notebook on our list has. The 300Hz display will make your competitive games look better and will give you an all-new experience. Plus, this laptop gives amazing performance even in AAA games while staying cool, thanks to its excellent Thermal Grizzly Liquid Metal Thermal Compound solution.
Battery Life Is Not Less
Although it is not recommended to game on battery power as games will drain your batteries much quicker. You won’t be able to game on most gaming notebooks for more than an hour as gaming machines consume a lot of power while gaming. For the very same reason, they come with huge power bricks of up o 350 watts. However, you might also use your laptop for productivity, and you require battery power for that. Before getting a gaming notebook, make sure its battery life is at least 4 hours. You can get even 6-7 hours of battery power on a gaming notebook, but that is rare. So 4-5 hours battery life is enough to consider a gaming machine.
CPU And Memory
These 2 factors are also very important in a gaming laptop. All of the laptops we’ve discussed today come with an RTX 2070, which is a beast of a card and requires an excellent CPU and enough RAM to compliment it. Make sure you get at a laptop with at least 16 GB dual-channel memory as less than 16 GB does not make sense on a machine with 2070 installed. Never even think to consider a gaming laptop with 8 gigs of RAM. CPU should be at least a 9th gen Intel Core i7. Core i5 does not go well with an RTX 2070, so make sure you get at least an i7 machine of 9th gen and preferably 10th gen. All of the laptops we’ve discussed above come with 10th gen Intel Core i7 processors. You even get 2 choices with 10th gen Core i7 processors. One is Core i7-10875H 8 Core, and the other one is Core i7-10750H 6 Core. The 8 core one is obviously better here, but the 6 core one also pairs well with the 2070 and does not bottleneck it.
SSD On The Go
SSD is the need of time. It does not matter if you are getting a gaming or a simple laptop. A laptop does not simply complete without an SSD installed in it. NVMe SSDs are better than SATA SSDs, and you’ll easily get NVMe SSDs in almost all gaming laptops. Almost all of the gaming notebooks we’ve discussed above come with 1 pre-installed NVMe and 2 NMVe slots in total. The extra slot allows you to add an additional NVMe SSD anytime you want. Make sure you get at least 512 GB SSD storage as you’ll want to keep your competitive games like CS: GO, DOTA 2, and Valorant on SSD as games load in a matter of seconds on SSDs. You can keep other single-player games on a hard disk drive.
RTX 2070 Vs RTX 2070 Super Vs 2070 Max-Q
With the introduction of Pascal architecture in Nvidia 10 series GeForce GPUs, Nvidia brought their laptop GPUs on par with their desktop GPUs. Then later, Nvidia introduced Max-Q designs to enable manufacturers to put their powerful top GPUs in slim and beautiful laptops. The original idea of Max-Q design was to sacrifices some of its power to enable consistent and excellent gaming at slightly lower clock speeds. When we compare RTX 2070 directly to RTX 2070 Max-Q, the RTX 2070 is 9-12% more powerful than the MAX-Q design in general gaming with Ray Tracing off. But when you turn the Ray Tracing on, the gap widens, and the difference in performance goes up to 20-30%. And when we compare the RTX 2070 Super with the original RTX 2070, it’s 10-15% faster than the original one. So the overall comparison is simple, the Original RTX 2070 is 10-15% faster than the 2070 Max-Q, and RTX 2070 Super is 10-15% faster than the original RTX 2070. You should make your choice considering these comparisons.
Your Budget
You can get an RTX 2070 notebook for around $1500. So if you have $1500, you are good to go. But you should keep your budget a bit higher to get some more features like a mechanical keyboard on MSI keyboards, 2 NVMe SSD slots for better up-gradation, and even a 2.5” disk slot for a lot of storage space. However, $1500 should be enough to get a decent RTX 2070 notebook with a decent processor and 16 GB RAM, which is good enough for even modern AAA titles like Cyberpunk.
Cooling System
Cooling is one of the major concerns in any gaming notebook. When the laptop gets hot, it throttles the gaming performance, and you might not get the performance your laptop is capable of. Plus, the laptop also gets hotter, which makes it difficult to use it comfortably. Make sure to check the thermals of the laptop before purchasing. Test it on several games, including the latest AAA titles, and make sure the cooling system is good enough to keep the laptop cooler.
Display & Resolution
When you are getting a gaming machine, the display is the main thing that will show you your gaming performance. A gaming laptop should at least have a 144Hz display because the more refresh rate makes the games look better. And they also help out in competitive gaming. Among the laptops we’ve discussed above, no laptop has a lower refresh rate than 144Hz. Some of them even have 240Hz, and one even has an insane 300Hz refresh rate, which is crazy. The maths is simple here. The more refresh rate, the better. But make sure you don’t compromise on any other major component while preferring a higher refresh rate. All of the notebooks we’ve presented to you are amazing, and each one of them has something unique which makes it different from other laptops. We’ve told you our favorite laptop among the batch in the section right above. You can consider it or go for any other machine on our list. None of the laptops has any major issue, and all of them provide an excellent gaming experience. So you can choose any of the mentioned notebooks that matches your preferences and start enjoying your favorite games right away.
#1 – Is an RTX 2070 laptop worth it?
As we discussed above, the 2070 graphics card from Nvidia is a sweet spot. Most AAA game’s recommended specifications are mostly an 2060 card, and 2070 cards performs much better than it without breaking the bank, and it also makes your laptop future-proof to some extent. The problem with xx80 laptops is that they get too expensive. So the RTX 2070 laptops are definitely worth it, and if you are on a budget and they are much better value for money than RTX 2080 cards.
#2 – Can the RTX 2070 run 4k?
The RTX 2070 can easily run games at 4K. Some AAA titles are easily playable on more than 60fps, and all other titles are easily playable on 4K@40-60fps. This card is a good choice for 4K gaming. But there’s something to keep in mind. None of the laptops we’ve mentioned above has a 4K display, so you won’t be able to play 4K games on its built-in display. However, you can always connect an external 4K display to make your games run at this resolution.
#3 – Is RTX 2070 good for 1440p?
Actually, the RTX 2070 is made for 1440p gaming. It can run all games at 1440p with more than 60fps consistently. So if you are getting a laptop for 1440p gaming, this card is the perfect choice for you. But again, keep in mind that you’ll have to get an external 1440p display to be able to game at this resolution.
#4 – Can RTX 2070 run all games?
RTX 2070 can easily run all games, even on 4K, as we discussed above. All AAA titles like Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Cyberpunk 2077 are not a problem to run on an RTX 2070. You can get an RTX 2070 notebook with peace of mind, and without worrying if it will be able to play your favorite game, it definitely will.
#5 – Which is the best RTX 2070 laptop?
It depends on your preferences that if you like a better display, or you want more storage in your laptop, or you want a more beautiful gaming laptop. According to us, the Acer Predator Triton 300 is one of the best 2070 laptops on our list. The biggest reason behind it is its amazingly thin body and beautiful design. At first look, it makes it hard to believe that a laptop this thin could feature an RTX 2070 in it. Plus, most of the laptop is made up of metal with very little plastic used in it. Plus, it has a 240Hz display for an amazing gaming experience and 2x NVMe SSD slots for easy up-gradation of fast storage.
