Over the past 18 months, it has been a real challenge for teachers to adapt during difficult times. Many have had to juggle organizing online learning materials with face-to-face teaching, and do so whilst conforming to lockdown and social distancing restrictions. Fortunately, shops, businesses, and organizations have really started to recognize the valuable contribution that teachers make to the communities that they live in and are now offering support and incentives to help every day.
Buying a house
Buying a house is one of the biggest purchases that most people make in their lifetime. Funding that purchase can sometimes take many years of saving. There are now home loans for teachers that can help them buy a house, offering stability to their families. These types of home loans offer favorable interest rates, making the monthly repayments more affordable. Some states are also offering special grants for teachers, such as the Extra Credit Teacher Home Purchase Program (ECTP). These are one-off payments to help teachers buy their own home.
Teachers Discounts For Supplies
Many stores are offering discounts for teachers picking up supplies for their students or their class. All you need to claim a discount, which is often between 5 and 15%, is to show a valid teacher ID. Staples, Office Depot, Dollar Tree, FedEx, The Container Store, and Target are all offering discounts for teachers to help every day with the things that they need.
Restaurant and Food Discounts
Many restaurants are offering appreciation deals for teachers so that they can enjoy a meal out. During this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week, establishments like McDonald’s and Costa even offered freebies to teachers. Even if you are eating at home, meal kit companies like Home Chef have begun to offer substantial discounts to teachers, so that they can have a nutritious meal after a long day at school. Despite a very challenging 18 months, teachers have made an extremely valuable contribution all over the world, and businesses are stepping up to recognize that contribution as they offer the appreciation that teachers deserve.
