In the last year, Netflix witnessed a downfall of more than 200,000 subscribers after a period of ten long years. Netflix Ads Plans: Basic with Ads
Netflix Chief Operating Officer Greg Peters said that they are excited to launch the new and cheaper plan Basic with Ads that will cost around $6.99/month in the United States on November 3, 2022, at 9 a.m PT. He further said, “We at Netflix have a huge opportunity ahead to grow our unit and to attract more subscribers. And part of that is having a wide range of pricing plans”. The Ads will be seen in between the shows and movies for around 4 to 5 minutes of commercials per hour. It is believed that the duration of the ad will be around 10 to 15 seconds. Having said that, Netflix says that a “limited number of movies and TV shows won’t be available due to licensing restrictions.” Netflix stated that “While it’s still very early days, we’re pleased with the interest from both consumers and the advertising community — and couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. The company also says, “As we learn from and improve the experience, we expect to launch in more countries over time.” Around seven months back, Netflix said it would enter the ad business, and now the company is ready to launch with the “Basic with Ads” plan. With the plan’s introduction, Netflix is trying to lure more customers by providing a comparatively cheaper plan to enhance its average revenue per user. In July, Netflix joined with Microsoft to actively grow its sales and technology for this new subscription plan with ads. In a conference call with the media, The company said there would be hundreds of advertisers at the time of the launch, and they had almost sold out their inventory. Disney+, Walt Disney, Hulu, and other streaming sites have already introduced subscription plans with ads or commercials. These subscriptions are quite cheap, ranging from $8 to $10.
