What is Leave a Note on Instagram? To put it simply, Leave a Note is another way of sharing your thoughts on Instagram, which earlier you might be sharing through captions, stories, or by creating a written post.

Instagram describes Notes as “a new way to share your thoughts and see what your friends are up to.” So just the way you tweet by typing in a space that asks you to write What’s happening? on Twitter. Similarly, Notes provide you with a space where you can write what’s on your mind…Sounds interesting?!
And after sharing a Note, it will be shown to the selected audience at the top of their inbox for the next 24 hours, just the way your stories do. But you can also choose to delete it before 24 hours as well. And if someone replies to your Note, you will receive those replies as DMs in your inbox.
With this new Instagram feature, you can share “short posts of up to 60 characters using just text and emojis,” just the way you post on Twitter, Hive, and Mastodon. This new feature also takes your privacy into consideration and gives you a choice of whether you want to share it with followers you follow back or with your Close Friends.
